Jupiter Beauty Academy in Boston, MA, may admit as a student any person who is above the age of compulsory school attendance in the state of Massachusetts unless the school has written assurance from the enrollee's parent, guardian, or principal of the school attended that the pursuit of the course would not be detrimental to the enrollee's regular schoolwork.
Prospective Student Criteria:
1) Applicants must be at least 16 years of age for Cosmetology programs and at least 18 years of age for Massage Therapy program.
2) Possess a valid Social Security Identification Number.
3) Provide personal identification with proof of age.
4) In addition, all applicants must meet one of the following educational criteria:
a. Possess a high school diploma/GED, or its equivalent, through the following proof: copy of diploma, copy of high school transcript showing completion, college transcript, certificate of attainment certified/verified by the high school’s state or other recognized agency. If proof of high school completion from a foreign country is not in the English or Vietnamese language, the document must be formally translated into English for acceptance.
b. For those students who did not complete a high school diploma or its equivalent and are beyond the age of compulsory education they are allowed the opportunity to demonstrate that they have the ability to benefit (ATB) from the training offered at our institution:
Before enrollment, the applicant must be able to successfully pass an aptitude test (CELSA) provided by ACTT, measuring the student’s ability to benefit from the program. Additionally, ATB eligible students must meet all the requirements listed above for Admissions.
5) A selected percentage of secondary school students who are not enrolled under any training agreements are permitted to enroll at our institution under the follow conditions: he/she must obtain permission in writing from the secondary school in which they are enrolled and successfully complete a pre-enrollment evaluation (which includes a prospective student interview and a passing score on Ability to Benefit test.)
Steps to Apply:
1. Review our Enrollment Package. If you would like to have a tour before the enrollment, please contact our Admission Office at (617) 288-1811.
2. Complete our Enrollment Application. If you don’t have a laptop, please visit our Admission Office during normal business hours to obtain a hard copy of the Enrollment Application.
3. Submit the following documents:
- A copy of your valid ID (unexpired driver license or U.S. passport)
- Your High school Diploma or College Diploma or an Official Transcript (degree granted transcript only) or GED.
4. Set up an appointment to submit the deposit (by cash/check/money order/Zelle/Venmo/Cashapp), sign the contract and pick up supplies and books.
Financial Aid Information:
- If you are interested in applying for Federal Financial Aids (applicable to our Aesthetics 600, Massage Therapy 650 and Cosmetology 1000 programs), please apply on FAFSA.GOV and include our school code 042292 in the application. To apply for Federal Financial Aids, you would need several documents below:
1. Your Social Security Number
2. Your driver’s license (if any)
3. Your alien registration number or permanent resident card (if you are not a U.S. citizen)
4. Your Education Completion Status
5. Your 2022 tax forms (including tax return and income forms) if you are applying for the 2024-2025 academic year and/or 2023 tax forms if you are applying for the 2025-2026 academic year. Please note that 2024-2025 academic year starts in July 2024 and ends in June 2025 and 2025-2026 academic year starts in July 2025 and ends in June 2026.
6. If you are a dependent student (under 23 years old and not married), your Parent’s 2022 tax forms (including tax return and income forms) if you are applying for the 2024-2025 academic year and/or 2023 tax forms if you are applying for the 2025-2026 academic year
7. Your untaxed income records if you haven’t included them in your tax return, such as child support received and worker’s compensation.
